Cydia Impactor is a flexible software that can perform a number of tasks on both iOS and Android platforms and which can be used on Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems. We know today how to use Cydia Impactor to install various iOS IPA applications and files without the need for a jailbreaking device.
Originally, Saurik was the manager for jailbreak-Android phones using the “MasterKey” exploit when this software was developed back in 2013. Subsequently, Saurik released an iPhone-and iPad device Cydia tweak that removes a jailbreak without re-establishing the device.
The developer renamed the tool to Cydia Eraser for iOS devices, to help avoid confusion between these two packages.
Then, new features for both Android and iOS platforms were recoded to the original Cydia Impactor. The IPAs on iOS and APK files on Android is the most important feature to be signed and installed. For many developers, it is one of the most popular applications to load apps sideways.
Sideloading (sideloading) is a process used for uploading applications (IPA or APK files, iPod and iPod Touch) from local storage to the mobile device, without downloading the application from the official App Store. But Cydia Impactor’s beauty is that it is compatible with three main PC operating systems, Windows, Mac OS and Linux. It is easy, light and free. It’s simple. You’ll forget any other methods after you use this software, such as the Xcode method, iTunes method or any other hack to load iOS apps.
Using the Cydia Impactor
Step 1: Make sure you have the most recent version of iTunes installed on your computer.
Step 2: You will have to use Cydia Impactor for the IPA file you want to install. Get it on your PC and save it.
Step 3: Download Cydia Impactor’s latest version from the official PC site. It can be used with Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Step 4: Extract the zipped file to a place that you can easily access.
Step 5: Connect a device from a USB cable to your PC. Start Impactor’s executable file now.
Step 6: Drag and drop the downloaded IPA file on it when you recognize your iPhone.
You can also go to the’ Device’ option, and select the’ Install Package…’ option on the’ Cydia Impactor.’ Install Cydia Impactor ‘ option.
Step 7: The application will request the Apple ID and the Apple ID password used to pick up the certificate from the Apple servers.
If you use an Apple ID registered with Apple’s Developer Program, the developer certificate is received and is valid for one year. Cydia Impactor gives the user and password entry error.
Step 8: Be patient and allow Cydia Impactor to perform various IPA file signing and installation tasks.
Step 9: Wake up your iPhone and go to’ Settings > General > Device Management’ after you see the message “Complete.”
Step 10: Open the profile just installed and the developer is confident.
That’s the whole thing. You can now launch the sideload app from the home screen of the iPhone.
Common Cydia Impactor Errors and Solutions
No system files on your iPhone and iPad are removed, deleted or altered by Cydia Impactor during the process. It only signs and installs the application on the device using the certificate.
It may show some errors while performing these steps that may vary from situation to situation. The common ones and their solutions are here.
You may get this error if you use Cydia Impactor on Windows PC or Linux. It means that either Cydia Impactor or Apple servers are not communicating properly with your device.
If you first connect your device to the PC, always select the “Trust This Computer” option to allow communication to take place without any problem. Start Cydia Impactor after that and follow the steps above.
If you have enabled two-factor authentication on your Apple ID, this error may also occur. Continue reading to get the solution to this issue.
When entering the username and password of Apple ID, this is the most common error facing people. It usually occurs when you set the authentication feature of two factors on your Apple ID. There are two options to get rid of this error. Either temporarily disable and re-enable the two-factor authentication after installing the IPA file using Cydia Impactor or use the password specific to the app. Here’s the way to get a password specific to the app.
- Go to appleid.apple.com and use your credentials to sign in.
- Click “Edit” under the security section.
- See the section “App-specific password” and click “Password generation.”
- Enter any label and receive your password.

If Cydia Impactor does not communicate with Apple servers, these errors occur. The fault could be at your end or at the end of Apple. If Apple’s servers are down due to some maintenance or are unavailable due to any DNS problem, you are faced with such errors.
If your internet connection doesn’t have a problem then you’ll have to wait a couple of hours until Apple servers are up.
This error occurs if you used a different account to install the same app on your device. Suppose, using an Apple ID and Password, you have already installed Super Mario. After some time, while using a different ID, you try to install the same application, you get this error.
To get rid of this error, either remove the already installed iOS app or sign the app with the same ID.
Zip.cpp:321 and zip.cpp:331
Because of either the bad IPA package or the old version of Cydia Impactor.
First of all, check that you are using Cydia Impactor’s latest version. Use the built-in updater under “Impactor > Update Check.” If the software is already updated, check that while downloading the IPA file is properly packed and not damaged. Try to get it from any other source after downloading again.
This error occurs when Cydia Impactor is unable to establish a secure remote server connection due to an SSL certificate issue. This problem was solved in Cydia Impactor’s latest release.
There are certainly some other messages of errors that you may receive while playing with Cydia Impactor, but the most common ones are mentioned above. If the error message is not listed here, upgrading the app and reinstalling your PC are the first two things you should do. If the error persists, try another PC with Cydia Impactor.
